This book was compiled by Willard P. Sullivan and Harry Tucker and published in 1919 by the George H. Doran Company, New York. The regiment included many soldiers from North Carolina. Below is a list of those individuals who were specifically mentioned as from places in Gaston and Lincoln Counties. For many names on the muster rolls, no hometown was given. Therefore it’s very likely that there were other local men in the regiment. (Since Kings Mountain crosses the county line, those names are included although a specific soldier may have been from the Cleveland County side.)
