Search Hints
- Headline/Subject -- allows keyword search of the text, including names.
- Search results are limited to 500 -- use date limits to avoid an "over 500 results" message.
- Use murders - Gastonia (plural) to include the headline/subject of murder in Gastonia (singular.)
- Sports photos and captions are rarely indexed.

The ScanPro 1100 microfilm reader can view, print, and/or scan to a USB drive:
- 35 mm roll microfilm (Gaston Gazette newspapers from 1998 - 2016 +)
- 16 mm roll microfilm
- positive microfiche
- negative microfiche

- Select microfilm type on computer
- Load microfilm as instructed on machine
- Advance using onscreen buttons to begin search
- Resize green dotted box to frame selected article
- In Output tab above image select Print or Save
- Rewind microfilm using onscreen buttons, and return to Reference Staff
