North Carolina Floodplain Maps

Visit North Carolina’s Floodplain Mapping Information System website at

https://flood.nc.gov/ncflood/

You can view, print or download digital versions of the Digital Flood Insurance Rate Maps (DFIRMs) produced by the North Carolina Floodplain Mapping Program
by clicking on “Digital Flood Maps.”

Digital flood maps are composites of base data, topographic data and flood layers which can be overlain with local parcel information or other data to more easily determine if a house or other property is or will be located in a Special Flood Hazard Area or floodway.

This series consists of Digital Flood Insurance Rate Map (DFIRM) data in community based raster image files and reports with associated attributes depicting flood risk information and supporting data for flood-prone areas within the United States of America.

Gaston County Interactive GIS

At the Gaston County Interactive GIS website, you can select optional map layers on the right side menu. Select "Natural" to choose overlays for "Special Flood Hazard Areas", "Floodway", and "Creeks, Streams & Rivers."

You can view current and historical flood maps online, order hardcopy maps or download digital scans of maps.
